Coldplay frontman Chris Martin jokes about the viral kiss cam incident

Chris Martin jokes about the infamous kiss cam moment at Coldplay’s first concert at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, since the Boston gig where Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristin Cabot were caught on camera looking a little too cosy.

Chris joked about the incident, drawing loud cheers and laughter from the crowd. “We’d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd. How we’re gonna do that is we’re gonna use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen. So please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now”, he said. Watch the video below:

At Coldplay’s Boston concert at Gillette Stadium, the kiss cam panned to Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, CEO and HR Chief at the tech company Astronomer, respectively. The pair were seen cuddling in the crowd. Byron, who’s married with two kids, quickly ducked to hide his face while Cabot covered hers, clearly caught off guard. Martin, unaware of who they were at the time, playfully said, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy".

The video blew up online. Within days after the incident, Byron resigned from his CEO position. His wife also removed his last name from her social media handles. The internet wasted no time in dissecting every angle of the incident, especially since Kristin, ironically, heads the company’s HR department.

Who is Andy Byron?

According to his LinkedIn profile, Andy Byron has been CEO of Astronomer since July 2023. Astronomer, a data software firm valued at over $1.3 billion, is known for its enterprise-grade data orchestration tools, used across industries from banking to media. A Providence College graduate, Byron lives in New York with his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, and their two children.
