Coldplay could face a lawsuit from Astronomer's ex-CEO Andy Byron.
As reported by Mandatory, Andy Byron is less than pleased with the video, which captured him embracing Cabot on the venue’s jumbotron. The accidental exposure led to both being “outed” mid-concert by frontman
Reality Tea adds that Byron is allegedly preparing to sue Coldplay and the concert organisers, citing “emotional distress” and “invasion of privacy.” A source close to Byron told the outlet he “didn’t consent to being filmed or publicly humiliated,” and feels the British rock band “made him a meme.” Despite Byron’s reported intentions, legal experts cited in the report are skeptical. They suggest any lawsuit is unlikely to succeed, noting that privacy should not be expected at a public concert, especially one filled with thousands of attendees and cameras.
While Chris Martin addressed the moment with a cheeky remark during a later show, the band has remained silent on Byron’s rumoured lawsuit. Behind the scenes, however, sources say the Coldplay frontman “laughed out loud” upon hearing about the former CEO’s legal plans, a reaction also reported by Reality Tea.
