Flaco Jimenez passed away at the age of 86. The news was confirmed by his family last night.
“It is with great sadness that we share tonight the loss of our father,
Flaco Jimenez. He was surrounded by his loved ones and will be missed immensely. Thank you to all of his fans and friends who cherished his music. And a big thank you for all of the memories. His legacy will live on through his music and all of his fans. The family requests privacy during this time of sadness and grievance,” the family shared a note with friends and fans.

Flaco’s death hasn’t been revealed yet, it is said that he was dealing with some health complications and was hospitalized earlier this year in January. After his discharge, his family shared an update on Flanco’s health. “Happy Sunday, Flaco fans! We apologize for the delay in updates. Flaco has been home, doing well and on the road to recovery. A huge thank you to all for the prayers, love, and continued support. Have a great week!”, his family wrote back then.
Who is Flaco Jimenez?Flaco Jimenez, aka Leonardo Flaco Jiménez, was an American singer-songwriter and accordionist from San Antonio, Texas. He was widely known for playing norteño and Tejano. Having over a seven-decade career, he has received numerous awards and honours, including Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Grammys, Americana Music Awards, and Tejano Music Awards. Flaco Jiménez has received a total of six Grammy Awards throughout his career. He won his first Grammy award in 1986 for his album ‘Ay Te Dejo en San Antonio’, whose title song was composed by his father.
