Musician and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh gets inked for the first time, and what’s special about the tattoos is the way he has paid tribute to his living legend AR Rahman and his mother. Honey took to his Instagram handle to share a video of himself getting inked, calling Rahman a “living legend” and expressing his deep respect for the maestro’s contribution to Indian music.

In the video, Honey Singh is seen getting a tattoo on his back while singing Rahman’s popular track ‘Tu Hi Re’. He said, “This is for my love for the lovely legend Mr. A.R. Rahman. I love you sir. This is for you. Thank you for blessing us with your music. You are the reason why I am a musician today. I love you forever.” He got Rahman’s name tattooed on his right shoulder.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Honey wrote, “My third tattoo in one night for my lovely living legend @arrahman sir !! I love you sir thank you for everything not gonna post my second tattoo coz its very personal #tattoo #yoyohoneysingh #arrahman #music #godofmusic”.

This is the first time Honey Singh got tattooed and not just with one, but by getting three tattoos on the same night. Each of his tattoos has a profound significance. The first tattoo is a tribute to his “blood" – his mother, Bhupinder Kaur. The tattoo has his mother’s signature, connected to an image of a baby in a womb, symbolising his bond with his mom. “Got my first TATTOO DONE !! My mums signature THE RICHEST LADY on earth !! I love you mummy shoutout to my blood," he wrote.

The second tattoo was kept a secret. The third tattoo was for Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman.

Honey Singh has often spoken about his admiration for AR Rahman, whom he refers to as the ‘God of Music’. In 2023, he appeared on a talk show and said that it’s his dream to collaborate with A.R. Rahman. Talking about making grammy level music, Honey told The Bombay Journey, “This is my dream. It might take 10-12 years more for me to achieve it, I want to produce a song, and I want AR Rahman sir to sing the song. I’m sure that I will get a Grammy for that song and AR Rahman will give me that award."
