The Chennai launch event also featured several big names, including Bollywood star Aamir Khan, who plays Dahaa in the movie. With a powerful storyline, a star-studded cast, and chart-topping music, Coolie has already generated major buzz. Two songs from the film, Chikitu and Monica, have been released and are trending on social media for their catchy tunes. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures. Coolie's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who previously teamed up with Rajinikanth for Jailer in 2023.

The film has been given an A (Adults Only) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification, meaning it is suitable only for viewers aged 18 and above. This is Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first film to receive an A rating; his earlier blockbusters Vikram and Leo were rated U/A. The movie will also clash at the box-office with Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani starrer War 2.
