The wait is finally over for Coolie fans! Rajinikanth starrer Coolie’s second single, ‘Monica’, has just dropped and is already the talk of the town. The song brings Pooja Hegde to the screen in a red dress, with a bold and glamorous avatar that is making everyone groove. The track is sung by Sublahshini and Anirudh Ravichander and the rap is performed by Asal Kolaarand. The lyrics are written by Vishnu Edavan and the music video is directed by Lokesh. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, Monica is another energetic track that shows why Anirudh is one of the most in-demand hitmakers today. Watch the video below:

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is one of 2025’s most anticipated movies. It is all set to release in theatres on August 14 in both standard and IMAX formats. The film features the legendary Rajinikanth in the lead, alongside a star-studded cast including Akkineni Nagarjuna as Simon, Upendra in a mystery role, Sathyaraj as Rajasekar, Soubin Shahir as Dayal, and Shruti Haasan as Preethi. And, adding even more buzz, Aamir Khan will be seen in his first-ever Tamil film role, playing a character named Dahaa. Though details about Amir’s part are not revealed at all.

While some fans have wondered whether Coolie connects to the famous Lokesh Cinematic Universe (which includes hits like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo), the director has confirmed that this is a standalone film, which means fans can expect something fresh. Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie has Girish Gangadharan behind the camera and Philomin Raj in charge of editing.
