Priyanka Chopra recalls working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Ram Chahe Leela'

Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about her experience working on the popular song 'Ram Chahe Leela' from Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. She shared that saying yes to the song wasn’t easy, but it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s artistic vision that won her over.

Sharing a clip of the song on Instagram, Priyanka wrote, “When Sanjay Sir came to me with this song, it was a complicated decision, but he, as a filmmaker has always inspired me. His creative mind, his nostalgic stories usually over incredible food, the conversations of art and music to dance.. the beauty of the yesteryears but also what the future holds. And then he played the song.. and I knew I was her".

Apart from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Priyanka also gave a shoutout to the people behind the scenes who brought the song to life."Under Sanjay sir’s guidance, Ravi Varman’s cinematography shone, and Vishnu Devas choreography was magic. Him and I would rehearse during lunch breaks every day to perfect the dance sequences. This brings back such great memories. Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela | 2013".

This wasn’t her first project with Sanjay Leela Bhansali; she has also produced and edited the movie Mary Kom in 2014. Mary Kom was a biopic sports film based on the life of the famous boxer Mary Kom, which was directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Priyanka Chopra was in the lead role, with newcomer Darshan Kumar and Sunil Thapa in the supporting roles of her husband and mentor, respectively.

Priyanka Chopra is currently gearing up for the international web series Citadel Season 2, which will release in spring 2026. She is also all set to star opposite Mahesh Babu in SSMB29, directed by SS Rajamouli. This will be her first time working with the South superstar.
