Megan Thee Stallion is on the road to recovery after a sudden health scare forced her to leave a Broadway performance midway through on Tuesday night. The rapper and songwriter, who is currently appearing in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, has now confirmed that she is resting and is expected to return to the stage on Thursday.

According to Variety, Megan was rushed to a local hospital after she began feeling unwell during the show. Her representative shared that doctors later diagnosed her with extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels. She has since been discharged and is now recovering.

The incident reportedly took place during Tuesday night’s performance when Megan Thee Stallion began experiencing breathing difficulties and was unable to continue. Emergency responders from the FDNY arrived at the theatre after reports of a performer in distress, and she was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

Later, Megan also opened up about the experience on Instagram, calling it a “wake-up call.” She admitted that she had been pushing herself too hard and had been “running on empty” for a while.

"Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance, but I just couldn’t," she wrote.

Assuring fans on returning to the stage, she wrote, "Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down 🥺I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been..I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve. Thank you for always riding with me and loving me through everything."

The rapper is currently playing nightclub impresario Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. She made her Broadway debut in the role earlier this year, with her limited run beginning on March 24 and continuing until May 17.
