Megan Thee Stallion was taken to the hospital on Tuesday night after she reportedly fell ill during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical in New York City. Her representative confirmed that the rapper began feeling unwell mid-show and was quickly taken for medical evaluation.

A representative for the rapper told TMZ, “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated.” As of now, there has been no further official update on her condition.

According to reports, the show had to be briefly paused as medics attended to Megan backstage. Audience members were reportedly asked to remain seated while the situation was being handled. After she exited the theatre, the performance resumed with another actor stepping in to continue the role. Megan’s hairstylist and close friend, Kellon Deryck, also asked fans to keep her in their prayers, which added to concern among her supporters online.

The incident comes just days after Megan made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. She began performances on March 24 and is currently scheduled to remain with the production until May 17. Her casting as Zidler marked a major moment for the production, as Megan became the first female-identifying performer to take on the role in any Moulin Rouge! production worldwide.

When her casting was first announced, Megan had said, “Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honour. “I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. “Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation, and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.”
