After leaving Australia and New Zealand off the initial dates for her ‘Ultrasound’ world tour, it looks like Lorde might be planning to reschedule it. Posters have started popping up around Sydney and Melbourne, hinting that local shows could be announced very soon. Promoter Frontier Touring has confirmed that an official announcement is set for tomorrow, July 11th.

Back in May, at the Aotearoa Music Awards, the New Zealand pop star dropped a strong hint that she wouldn’t skip her home crowd. “Could you imagine if I didn’t? That would be bad, that would be bad,” she said when asked about possible shows. “Watch this space,” she added.

Lorde is currently promoting her new album Virgin, which came out on June 27th and has already been a huge success. The album debuted at No. 1 in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, and reached No. 2 in the US. In a recent post, she shared her excitement, writing, “Beyond moved/twisted/torn/changed from solid to liquid to gas by the welcome Virgin has received so far. It’s craaaaazzyyyy feeling my treasures become your treasures. Made me think of this Etsy listing I’ve been watching for months, could anything be more Virgin, Sharpie 4 on paper heart next to a pile of iridescent fragments. Heaven. Thank you.”

There is even more on the way. Lorde recently teased some Virgin B-sides and revealed that a few songs didn’t make the final album. She also surprised fans at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival last weekend, performing a secret set as her first live show of this new era.

The ‘Ultrasound’ world tour was first announced in May, with dates confirmed across the US, UK, and Europe. The tour kicks off in Texas on September 17 and will wrap up in Sweden on December 9. She will be joined by a great lineup of support acts, including Blood Orange, Japanese House, Nilüfer Yanya, Chanel Beads, Empress Of, Jim-E Stack, and Oklou.

Lorde is currently in Paris attending Haute Couture Fashion Week and was spotted at the Chanel show with her friend and fellow artist Gracie Abrams. Fans in Australia and New Zealand will just have to wait one more day for the good news.
