Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 has been making waves ever since it was officially announced, with Ranveer Singh stepping into the iconic lead role. Now, fresh buzz around the film suggests that fans can expect a high-energy nightclub sequence, much like the hit track ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ from the 2006 Don film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. The song was sung by Alisha Chinoy, Mahalakshmi Iyer, and Sonu Nigam, music directed by Ehsaan Noorani, Loy Mendonca, and Shankar Mahadevan, and written by Javed Akhtar.
According to a report by India Today, the upcoming song is expected to be a glitzy, stylised number packed with drama and fashion, keeping the legacy of the franchise alive. Kriti Sanon is set to appear in this track, along with another prominent actor whose name hasn’t been confirmed yet. Sources say casting is still underway for the second lead in the song. Talks are on with a few actors, but nothing is locked in yet. So far, Farhan Akhtar has chosen to stay tight-lipped and hasn't released a statement about the song or its casting.
Kriti wasn’t the first choice for the female lead. Kiara Advani was initially locked as the female lead, but she stepped away after finding out about her pregnancy. She recently gave birth to a baby girl.
Don 3, which stars Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, is still finalising its full cast. A statement from the production team mentioned that they are in discussions with a major A-list actor for a key antagonist role.
Reports suggest that actors Vikrant Massey and Vijay Deverakonda were also approached for the villain’s part, but both turned it down because the character didn’t offer enough depth. There were rumours about Karan Veer Mehra joining the cast as well, but later it turned out to be false.
'Don 3', produced by Excel Entertainment, is expected to begin later this year.
