The Delhi High Court has pulled up rapper Honey Singh over his song Volume 1, calling its content “grossly vulgar” and derogatory towards women. As per reports by Live Law, the court has ordered the immediate takedown of the song from all platforms. The matter came up while the court was hearing a plea filed by Hindu Shakti Dal, which had sought the removal of the song’s audio and video from social media and streaming platforms. During the hearing, Justice Purushaindra Kaurav strongly objected to the lyrics and overall content of the track.

According to the report, the judge said the “conscience of the court is shocked with the contents of the song.” The court also reportedly noted that even the title of the song was so vulgar that it could not be mentioned in the official order.

The court further made it clear that the takedown would apply not only to the original song, but also to any remixes, clips or shortened versions of it, so that no part of the track remains publicly accessible. Although Honey Singh and Badshah have reportedly denied being connected to the song, the court also took note of the fact that some of its verses were allegedly performed during a recent concert, which has now added to the controversy.

The song, believed to date back to the early 2000s and linked to the Mafia Mundeer phase, has faced criticism for years over its explicit language and objectionable portrayal of women.

The development comes just days after Honey Singh performed portions of the same song during his Mumbai concert, which has also found itself in the middle of controversy. An FIR has reportedly been filed against the event organisers after alleged violations at the show held at MMRDA Grounds on March 28.

As per police reports, the organisers are accused of using laser lights in a restricted zone, despite being informed in advance that such equipment was not allowed near the airport area due to safety reasons.

The concert also saw a separate on-ground incident involving a fan. During the event, a woman allegedly tried to jump over a closed gate in an attempt to enter the venue. Security personnel stopped her, following which the situation briefly turned tense.

The Mumbai performance was part of Honey Singh’s ongoing My Story World Tour, which began in Delhi on March 14, 2026. The tour has already travelled across several cities, and the singer is expected to perform next in Pune and Kolkata.
