BTS drops 2.0 teaser from ARIRANG; RM's mafia look steals the show

Global K-pop group BTS has released a teaser for the music video of their track 2.0. The teaser, which dropped at midnight KST on April 1, gives a quick glimpse into 2.0, a B-side from their latest album ARIRANG. The track is produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and Pluss, with lyrics written by RM, J-hope, V, Jungkook and Suga.

The 29-second clip begins with an elevator on the first floor, where a group of men can be seen arguing in a dimly lit hallway. As the elevator moves up and the doors open on the second floor, the scene shifts dramatically. The BTS members appear dressed in sharp suits, giving off a strong mafia-style vibe. The atmosphere changes instantly, with everyone going silent as they step into the frame.

The camera then focuses on RM, who stands out with a retro 1970s hairstyle and aviator sunglasses, holding a calm yet intense presence. Interestingly, the teaser keeps the spotlight mostly on him, without revealing the other members’ faces.

Soon after the teaser dropped, fans flooded social media with reactions. Many praised the group’s powerful screen presence and the mood of the teaser.

One fan wrote, “This is not a comeback, this is a rebirth!!!" Another commented, “I was not ready for this type of looks, they look sho hot." A third user added, “Manifesting more MVs as the whole album is a master piece.” Several fans also compared the concept to a “mafia boss” theme, while others said the teaser alone feels like a statement about the group’s new phase.

What ‘2.0’ represents

The members have described 2.0 as a reflection of their “second chapter,” a phase that comes after their military service and solo projects before enlistment. The song is seen as a way for the group to define where they stand now.

The teaser comes at a busy time for BTS. Along with the release of ARIRANG, the group has also confirmed the return of their popular variety show, now titled Run! BTS 2.0. The new version will feature all seven members and is set to premiere on April 7, 2026. In its teaser, the group is seen discussing ideas and planning how to update the show to match their journey and the current digital space since the last season aired in 2022. While the full release date of the 2.0 music video is yet to be announced.
