BTS drops 2.0 music video; members’ mafia-style look steals the show.
Right from the opening frame, 2.0 sets a sharp tone. The video begins with all seven members carrying a gritty, gangster-style vibe, bringing in a darker and more intense mood than what fans are used to seeing. The music video is pretty polished and gives a cinematic feel.
One of the most talked-about parts of the video is its strong visual resemblance to Oldboy, especially the famous hallway fight-style setup. But instead of going full chaos, BTS keep it controlled and stylish.

As expected, ARMY was quick to flood social media with reactions soon after the release. One fan wrote, “Is no one going to talk about the choreography? It's absolutely fineeeee” while another commented, “Totally bangtan's style: comedy, charisma, insane dance, storytelling, cinema, aura”

Another fan shared a longer take on the concept and wrote, “I think the elevator scene is a direct response to the critics who thought a nearly four year hiatus would end their "prime." By switching from the gritty Oldboy aesthetic to a modern, polished look, they’re showing that they haven't lost their edge...they’ve just evolved. (The part where they changed clothes...)The message is that while the "packaging" or the era might change, the people inside the clothes and the roots that built them remain exactly the same. It’s a visual way of saying they don't need to reinvent themselves to be relevant; they are still the same kings, just stepping into a new chapter.”
What ‘2.0’ represents
The members have described 2.0 as a reflection of their “second chapter,” a phase that comes after their military service and solo projects before enlistment. The song is seen as a way for the group to define where they stand now. Along with the release of ARIRANG, the group has also confirmed the return of their popular variety show, now titled Run! BTS 2.0. The new version will feature all seven members and is set to premiere on April 7, 2026. In its teaser, the group is seen discussing ideas and planning how to update the show to match their journey and the current digital space since the last season aired in 2022. While the full release date of the 2.0 music video is yet to be announced.
