Vijay lends voice for TVK campaign song ahead of Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026
Adivi Sesh’s upcoming film Dacoit, starring Mrunal Thakur, unveils its second single Chicchubuddi song. Sung by Ram Miriyala and Jonita Gandhi, the energetic track shows a lively side of Sesh. Featuring vibrant visuals and dance, the song hints at the film’s mix of action, romance, and emotional drama ahead.
Actor-politician Vijay has lent his voice for the TVK campaign song for his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), as the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 approach. The song release comes shortly after the party announced the ‘whistle’ as its official symbol.

Titled the ‘TVK election campaign song’, the track is designed to connect with the masses and encourage people to vote using the whistle symbol. The song leans into Vijay’s popularity while delivering a simple message aligned with the party’s campaign. At one point in the song, Vijay sings, "You make fun of the fact that I come alone, but remember, there are eight crore people behind me." In another line, he adds, "Good people, please vote for the whistle."

The TVK campaign song also reflects the party’s stated values, positioning itself as secular and progressive. The release comes just days after Vijay received permission to contest two constituencies, Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East. The Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 are scheduled to take place later this April.

On the work front, Vijay is awaiting censorship clearance for his final film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. Reports suggest that the ongoing censorship process may conclude soon, with a possible theatrical release in the final week of April, although an official confirmation is still awaited from KVN Productions. The film was initially slated for a January 9 release but was postponed after a Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) committee recommended certain excisions. A subsequent complaint led to the film being referred to a revising committee.

Apart from Vijay, Jana Nayagan features an ensemble cast including Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Pooja Hegde, and Narain, among others. There is also ongoing speculation about the film being a remake of the 2023 Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, though this has not been officially confirmed. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
