Just one day before tens of thousands of electronic dance music fans were set to descend on Boom, Belgium, a massive fire tore through Tomorrowland's iconic main stage on Wednesday, causing severe damage and casting a shadow over the highly anticipated festival.

Organisers confirmed that, fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze, which broke out near Antwerp and quickly spread to nearby woodland. Dramatic images circulated on local media and social platforms showed towering flames and thick black smoke engulfing the stage structure.

In an official update, the Tomorrowland team stated, “Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged. We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.” They added that efforts are underway to ensure the festival proceeds as planned over the next two weekends.

With approximately 100,000 attendees expected and many already en route or preparing to camp onsite, organisers assured that DreamVille, the festival’s campsite, would open on schedule on Thursday. The main event kicks off Friday, featuring global heavyweights like David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, and Lost Frequencies. Performances were originally divided between the now-destroyed main stage and the Freedom Stage. Several hundred firefighters worked to contain the blaze, while local authorities, including Antwerp prosecutors, have launched an investigation. Early signs point to an accidental cause.
