Speaking to Mashable India, A. R. Rahman teased the high-energy setlist fans can expect. “We’re getting popular dance numbers too. Chaiyya Chaiyya, there’s no concert without Chaiyya Chaiyya,” he said, assuring audiences that the performance will be both nostalgic and electric.
Rahman also reflected on how the live music experience has evolved post-pandemic, emphasizing the deeper connection between performers and fans. “What’s happened in the past six or seven years is that the interactivity with the audience, the love, especially after COVID-19 has been phenomenal. Like what people like Jacob Collier are doing… even in India, people are so interactive, even in small gigs. They know every lyric and sing along."
The Wonderment Tour is part of the Waves Summit and is being brought to life by Percept Live, Fairgame Entertainment, and Jo Entertainment, in close collaboration with Rahman himself. Meanwhile, Rahman also has a major film project on the horizon — he’s currently scoring the music for Thug Life, the much-anticipated collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam.
