Speaking to News18, Sapna Mukherjee shared how special the moment felt for her. “I had a quiet smile. Oye Oye chose its moment to return. And what made it even more special was the timing. I had just performed at a very special concert for CISF and NSG jawans, where the same song was celebrated with so much pride and energy."

She added, “Then to see it come alive again in Dhurandhar 2, used twice, even in the end credits with my voice and Amit Kumar’s making the melody immortal again, it felt like the song was finding its place across generations once more,"

Mukerji also appreciated the way the recreated version was handled and praised Aditya Dhar for preserving the essence of the original.

She reportedly said she was grateful that the song’s soul had not been altered, and appreciated the honesty and respect shown in its recreation. The singer also noted that in today’s time, songs are often reused without proper credit, but praised Dhar for acknowledging the original creators and giving due respect to those who composed, arranged and sang the track.
