The Delhi High Court has ordered Rakshit Shetty’s production house, Paramvah Studios, to pay ₹25 lakh for using two songs without permission in the film Bachelor Party. The decision was given by Justice Tejas Karia, who found the studio guilty of copyright violation and also of not following earlier court orders properly.

In its ruling, the Delhi High Court said that Bachelor Party, produced by Paramvah Studios, violated copyright rules by using songs owned by MRT Music without a proper license. The court also held Paramvah Studios guilty of not following its earlier order on time.

The makers of Bachelor Party had argued that the songs were used only for a short duration. However, the Delhi High Court rejected this claim. It said, "In any event, the use of the Original Works in the Impugned Film was not minimal as the song Omme Ninnanu was incorporated for substantial 31 seconds whereas Nyaya Ellide was used for 7 seconds."

The Delhi High Court further stated that even a small portion of a song cannot be used without permission, as the rights belong fully to the copyright owner. In this case, MRT Music had clearly stated that Paramvah Studios did not take permission to use the songs in Bachelor Party.

In Bachelor Party, one song appears in a television scene, while another is performed in a classroom scene. The court noted that these were not random uses, but were added to support the story and for commercial purpose.

Earlier, in August 2024, the Delhi High Court had asked Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios to deposit ₹20 lakh and remove the infringing content from Bachelor Party. However, Paramvah Studios did not submit the amount within the given time. Although the amount was later paid during the case proceedings, the delay led the Delhi High Court to take further action. As a result, an additional ₹5 lakh penalty was imposed on Paramvah Studios.

In total, the Delhi High Court directed that ₹20 lakh be given to MRT Music, along with the ₹5 lakh penalty, taking the total to ₹25 lakh in the Bachelor Party case involving Rakshit Shetty and Paramvah Studios.
