Fans Invited to Honour Ozzy Osbourne During Birmingham Procession
While the funeral will remain private, fans will still have the opportunity to pay their last respects. According to BBC, a public procession will take place in Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham.
On Wednesday, July 30, the rock legend’s body will be brought back for a special cortege through the city. The procession is scheduled to begin at 1 PM BST and will travel along Broad Street, one of Birmingham’s iconic locations. “We're going to pay our last respects and homage to one of the greatest living legends of Birmingham,” said Lord Mayor of Birmingham Zafar Iqbal, as quoted by BBC. The Osbourne family is said to be deeply moved by the overwhelming support they've received from around the world since Ozzy’s death. “The family is ‘touched’ by the massive love and support they have been receiving from worldwide,” People stated.
For the unversed, Ozzy's death comes just weeks after Ozzy’s emotional final performance in Birmingham, England, where he reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Tony Iommi for a special event titled Back to the Beginning. It marked Black Sabbath’s first show together in 20 years and was billed as Ozzy’s “final bow.”
