Nora Fatehi to shake a leg with Rajinikanth in Jailer 2? Here’s what we know

The excitement around Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 continues to build, with fresh reports adding to the buzz. According to industry chatter, Bollywood diva Nora Fatehi is set to make a special appearance in a major song sequence in the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial.

Several reports claim that Nora Fatehi is currently shooting a high-energy outdoor dance number in Chennai. Described as a vibrant, massy track , the song has reportedly been composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The scale of the sequence is said to be massive, with Nora shooting for nearly eight days alongside Rajinikanth. The song is expected to be unveiled sometime in 2026, although the makers are yet to make an official announcement.

If this news is true, then Nora's performance will follow in on Tamannaah Bhatia's viral Kaavaalaa from Jailer, which went on to become a global blockbuster.

Meanwhile, Jailer 2 arrives three years after the blockbuster success of Jailer and will once again see Rajinikanth reprise his role as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. Ramya Krishnan is also expected to return as his wife. Reports further suggest that Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, who appeared in cameo roles in the first film, may reprise their parts. Additionally, names such as Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty are being widely rumoured as part of the sequel’s ensemble cast.

Even ahead of the first film’s release, Nelson had spoken about expanding his stories through sequels. Building on that vision, Sun Pictures officially announced Jailer 2 in January 2025. The film went on floors in March, with principal photography taking place in Chennai.

The sequel reunites much of the original technical team, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, Vijay Kartik Kannan handling cinematography, and R. Nirmal overseeing the editing. Jailer 2 is slated for a theatrical release on 12 June 2026.
