Indian cinema icon Deepika Padukone has been named among 90 extraordinary women on The Shift’s first-ever list celebrating global leadership, creativity, and cultural influence. She appeared alongside influential names such as Amal Clooney, Selena Gomez, Angelina Jolie, Billie Eilish, and Amanda Gorman, among other inspiring women from around the world.

Post the announcement, Deepika shared a post on Instagram with a caption, “In tribute to the one and only Gloria Steinem and her 91 years of activism, The Shift is honoring 90 voices shaping our future. @theshiftison grateful for the honour…”

Deepika told The Shift, “Success to me isn’t just about professional achievement but also about well-being, where mental health and self-care matter as much as discipline, dedication, and determination. I strongly believe in the power of patience, balance and consistency, and authenticity, and I hope to inspire a generation that values all of these virtues equally”.

Not only Deepika but also Indian filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has been featured on the list. Both Zoya and Deepika have carved a space for themselves in the male-dominated film industry with bold, creative choices and a commitment to meaningful storytelling. Their work has gone beyond borders, inspiring audiences worldwide and setting new standards for Indian women in cinema.
