    Deepika Padukone becomes the first Indian actress to receive a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

    Deepika Padukone has been named one of the 2025 inductees at the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame, announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Deepika will be honoured in the Motion Pictures category, class of 2026, for her work in films. The announcement was made during a live-streamed event hosted by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, marking a significant milestone in the global recognition of Indian talent. She becomes the first Indian actress to achieve this, joining famous stars like Emily Blunt and Rami Malek.

    “This recognition is not just about my work but about what it means for all of us. I hope this paves the way for more South Asian representation around the world,” said Deepika in a brief statement following the announcement. She also posted a story on Instagram, which read, “Gratitude.”

    In previous years, several international hip-hop artists have also been inducted into their respective halls of fame. Some of the notable names included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, and LL Cool J, who were recognized for their contributions to the genre. Check out the list below:

    1. Queen Latifah: Grammy-winning Queen Latifah was the first rapper to receive a star on the Walk of Fame in 2006. But she had received the star for her work in movies and TV. Latifah's star can be found at 6915 Hollywood Blvd.
    2. Diddy: Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008. You can find his star at 6801 Hollywood Blvd.
    3. Pharrell Williams: Pharrell Williams got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014. His star is located at 6270 Hollywood Blvd.
    4. Pitbull: Rapper, singer, and songwriter Pitbull received a star in the year 2016. You will find his star at 6201 Hollywood Blvd.
    5. LL Cool J: LL Cool J received his star in 2016. His star is located at 6901 Hollywood Blvd.
    6. Ice Cube: Rapper, actor, and director Ice Cube got his star in 2017. It's at 6752 Hollywood Blvd.
    7. Snoop Dogg: Snoop Dogg received his star in 2018. It can be found at 6840 Hollywood Blvd.

    8. Cypress Hill: Cypress Hill, a famous rap group, got its star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019. They were the first rap group to be honoured with the prestigious star. Their star is located at 6201 Hollywood Blvd.
    9. 50 Cent: 50 Cent received his star in 2020. His star is located at 6250 Hollywood Blvd.
    10. Missy Elliott: Missy Elliott received her star in 2021. Her star is located at 6212 Hollywood Blvd.
    11. Salt-N-Pepa: Salt-N-Pepa received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022. Their star is located at 6212 Hollywood Blvd, interestingly near Missy Elliott's star.
    12. DJ Khaled: DJ Khaled got his star on April 11, 2022, at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, near Amoeba Music.
    13. Ice-T: Ice-T received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 17, 2023, and it can be found at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard.
    14. Ludacris: Ludacris received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 18, 2023, and it's located at 6426 Hollywood Boulevard.
    15. Tupac Shakur: Tupac Shakur was honoured with a posthumous Star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame on June 07, 2023.
    16. Dr. Dre: Legendary rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Dr. Dre is the latest hip-hop artist who has been honoured with the 2,775th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 19, 2024. His star is located at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard, right next to Snoop Dogg's star.
