A snap of 'Pehla Tu Duja Tu' and 'Dabidi Dibidi'
Bollywood has a reputation for drama, and that applies to its dance moves too. While some songs give us high-energy choreography and flawless formations, others… go a very different route. Some hooksteps are so bizarre, so random, or so unexpectedly simple that they stick in your head not because they’re impressive, but because they leave you wondering, “Yeh kya tha?!”

Here’s a look at some Bollywood songs where the hooksteps were either too much, too little, or just too strange to ignore.

    1. Pehla Tu Duja Tu: Let’s start with ‘Pehla Tu Duja Tu’ from the Son of Sardaar 2. Sung by Vishal Mishra, with music and lyrics by Jaani, this track features Ajay Devgn and Mural Thakur. Now, picture the hookstep: The two of them just holding each other’s hands and showing two fingers. That’s it. No footwork. No twist. Just... fingers. It’s almost as if the choreography was made during a tea break.

    2. Chinta Ta Chita Chita: Then there’s ‘Chinta Ta Chita Chita’ from Rowdy Rathore. Now this one? An absolute banger when it was released. Featuring Akshay Kumar, the track was sung by Mika Singh and Wajid Khan, composed by Sajid-Wajid, and penned by Sameer Anjaan. The hookstep was fun to do, and guess what? When you try to do it, you can actually hear the beats of 'Chinta Ta Chita Chita'. Wild right!

    3. Tattad Tattad: No “bizarre hookstep” list is complete without ‘Tattad Tattad’ from Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. This one became the meme moment of 2013. Ranveer Singh made his big, shirtless entry into Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s world with this track, composed by Bhansali himself, sung by Aditya Narayan, and written by Siddharth-Garima. The step? Just Ranveer flipping his wet hair and rubbing it from behind. Watch the video to see it.

    4. Dhoom Dhaam: ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ from Action Jackson is another example of “why was this choreographed like that?” The song, featuring Ajay Devgn and Yami Gautam, which feels romantic, but the moves say otherwise. Then Ajay Devgn pulls out his goggles, with the iconic step, which includes only one finger. Yes, that’s it! You can even call it a one-finger choreography. The track is sung by Ankit Tiwari and Palak Muchhal, composed by Himesh Reshammiya, and written by Sameer Anjaan. So, it you want to enjoy just the song, then tune in to Gaana to avoid the bizarre dance step.

    5. Dabidi Dibidi: Then enters ‘Dabidi Dibidi’ from the movie Daaku Maharaaj, a song that’s as chaotic as its name. The choreography here is so disjointed that you can’t help but laugh. You don’t know whether to vibe or call for help. But somehow, it stays in your brain, probably because no one can explain it.

    6. Po Po: And finally, ‘Po Po Song’, from Son of Sardaar. This one goes big on sound effects and expressions. Featuring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, and Sonakshi Sinha, this track is sung by Vikas Bhalla, Aman Trikha, and Himesh Reshammiya, with Himesh also handling the music and Shabbir Ahmed writing the lyrics. The hookstep has no footsteps, no hand work, absolutely nothing. Just some weird facial expression and that’s it! Check out the video below to see it.
