    July 3 brought more than just a first look at Ramayana, director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated epic starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, as it also revealed a music collaboration that’s now the talk of the internet. Global icons A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer have officially come on board to compose the music for the magnum opus, sending waves of excitement across the music and film community.

    Soon after the announcement, A. R. Rahman posted a selfie with Zimmer on social media, captioned simply, “With @hanszimmer #ramayanamovie.” Here's the post:


    The image, featuring the two maestros side by side, quickly went viral. Fans and artists alike lit up the comments section, celebrating the historic partnership. Singer Armaan Malik called the moment “legendary,” while actor Lauren Gottlieb dubbed it “iconic.” Fans chimed in with messages like “ARR x HZ. The frame everyone will remember,” and “Two titans cooking up something colossal.” Another user summed up the general sentiment with, “Frame of the decade!”

    Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, co-produced by Yash and written by Shridhar Raghavan, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The film is presented by Namit Malhotra. The shooting for the first part of the Ramayana has been completed, and the second part is set to begin filming in August 2025. The movie will be released in two parts: the first on Diwali 2026 and the second on Diwali 2027. Ramayana is mounted on a huge budget, much like Hollywood blockbusters, and is supported by DNEG, an Oscar-winning visual effects company. The 3-minute teaser has been released, and now fans are eagerly waiting for the 7-minute behind-the-scenes video, which will be out closer to the release date.
