One of the most hilarious and memorable moments from Himesh Reshammiya’s Delhi concert came when he cheekily asked the crowd how they’d like their next song served: classic or nasal. "Thoda regular gaaun ya naak se gaaun? (Should I sing normally or from my nose?),” he quipped, instantly cracking up the packed stadium.

Back in June, during his concert in Mumbai, Himesh Reshammiya pulled the same playful move and took a jab at his long-time critics in the process. Midway through the show, he turned to his fans and asked, “Thoda regular gau yaa naak se? (Should I sing in a regular style or nasally?)” They immediately shouted for the nasal version.

Recently, the 51-year-old singer addressed the ongoing conversations around his vocal style. Speaking to Pinkvilla, he said, “Aaj toh nasal ki baat bhi nahi kar rahe hain (Nobody is making that criticism of my nasal singing these days). Many people did nasal singing after me, so many of my songs became hits."

He went on to explain the thought process behind using that tone in Aashiq Banaya Aapne. In the same interview, Himesh shared, “Actually, even though I call it nasal singing today, for me, it was never nasal, it was high-pitched singing. It was a cry for help! In the ‘Aashiq Banaya’ video, this guy is actually crying in pain, singing, as well as dancing."

But amidst the laughs and chartbusters, Himesh took a heartfelt pause to honour the Indian Armed Forces for their successful execution of Operation Sindoor. Performing at the Indira Gandhi Arena on Saturday night, he urged the audience to express gratitude to the brave soldiers who make moments like this possible. "Sab hoga magar humein unhe nahi bhoolna chahiye jinki wajah se aaj hum yahan ek dusre ko mil pa rahe hain. Humare desh ke jawano ko salute hai. Jai Hind. Operation Sindoor zindabad,” he said, drawing resounding applause.

What followed was an emotional rendition of ‘Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge Aye Watan Tere Liye’ from the 1986 film Karma, as the Indian tricolour lit up the big screen behind him.

The Delhi leg of his Cap Mania Tour, presented by Saregama Live, kicked off on July 19 and wraps up on July 20.
