‘Enna Sugam’ from Idli Kadai drops ahead of Dhanush’s birthday

A day ahead of Dhanush’s birthday, fans received a musical gift in the form of Enna Sugam, the first single from his upcoming film Idli Kadai. The film, written, directed, and headlined by Dhanush himself, is now slated for release on October 1, 2025.

The romantic song that features Dhanush and Nithya is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Enna Sugam is a heartfelt romantic number that gives you all the feels of love, much like Dhanush, Shweta Mohan and GV Prakash Kumar's earlier hit Vaa Vaathi. The song marks the ninth collaboration between the composer and Dhanush. The two share a longstanding creative rapport, with GV Prakash also scoring music for Dhanush’s earlier directorial venture Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. This time around, Dhanush not only pens the lyrics but also lends his voice to the track alongside celebrated singer Shweta Mohan.

About Idli Kadai

The film’s ensemble cast features Nithya Menen, reuniting with Dhanush after their much-loved pairing in Thiruchitrambalam, as well as Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Samuthirakani, Sathyaraj, and Raj Kiran. Behind the scenes, the film boasts a strong technical team. Kiran Koushik handles cinematography, GK Prasanna is the editor, Jackie takes care of the production design, and action sequences are choreographed by Peter Hein. Dhanush also serves as producer under his Wunderbar Films banner, alongside Akash Baskaran of Dawn Pictures.

Originally announced in September 2024 under the working titles D52 and DD4, marking Dhanush’s 52nd film as an actor and his fourth directorial effort, the film was initially expected to hit theatres in April 2025. However, due to delays in production, the release was rescheduled. The updated release date of October 1 was confirmed on April 4, 2025.

Apart from Idli Kadai, Dhanush has Tere Ishk Mein to be released in Hindi this year. The film is directed by Anand. L. Rai and stars Kriti Sanon in the lead.
