BTS made a huge return this week with their comeback album Arirang and a massive live concert at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. The show, which was also streamed globally on Netflix, marked the group’s first full performance together in front of fans after completing their mandatory military service. And going by the numbers, the comeback was every bit as big as expected.

According to HYBE, more than 100,000 fans attended the concert in central Seoul to watch BTS perform live. The event turned into a major moment for ARMY, as all seven members, RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, took the stage together for the first time since 2022.

The scale of the event was so massive that around 15,000 police officers and security personnel were reportedly deployed in the area to manage the crowd and maintain safety.

The concert was not just a big event on-ground, but also a global streaming success. According to Netflix, the live show pulled in an estimated 18.4 million viewers worldwide, making it one of the biggest music live streams in recent memory. The streaming platform also revealed that the concert entered the Top 10 charts in 80 countries and reached the No. 1 spot in 24 countries.

Netflix shared that the comeback campaign generated a staggering 2.62 billion social impressions worldwide. Reacting to the overwhelming response, the platform said the numbers show that the group’s popularity “has only intensified during their time apart.”

    About Arirang

The concert came alongside the release of BTS’ fifth studio album, Arirang, which dropped just around the same time as the show. According to HYBE, the album sold nearly four million copies on its very first day, giving BTS yet another explosive comeback milestone. The new album is also being seen as a reflection of the group’s evolving Korean identity, making it a meaningful release for both the band and fans.

BTS performed 12 songs at the comeback show

The highly energetic concert reportedly featured 12 tracks, including songs from Arirang. For fans, the biggest emotional moment was simply seeing all seven members back on stage together again after years of solo schedules and military service.
